Go From the Shy Guy to the Fly Guy – How to Approach Women
Now when you think of being that cool guy who naturally attracts women like pigs to mud, what do you envision? The fictional characters we attribute to chick magnets like The Fonz, James Bond and Captain Jack Sparrow all share a common skill that gives them the know-how to approach women; they’re cool. Now that’s not as simple as it sounds, it’s not actually doing much but doing just enough, because doing too much makes you seem too eager (Think of Johnny Bravo). Being too eager is the number one problem most men have when approaching women.
How to Approach Women – Being Cool
Being cool (not to be confused with just being popular) is based on how calm you are how natural you act. Are you jumpy, twitchy, or clumsy? Calm yourself fool! It’s that simple just calm yourself down and don’t be too jumpy. Being jumpy gives the impression of being insecure and a lack of confidence.
How to Approach Women – Confidence
Chicks dig confidence, but don’t over do it, there’s a fine line between confidence and over compensation (blowhards) and girls can see this coming a mile away. Just be calm and confident in yourself when around women, for instance if you’re at a bar and a girl looks you in the face don’t look away or flinch, that’s a sign of weakness and insecurity. When a girl looks at you from across a room just return the favor by looking at her (keep your eyes above her neckline, any lower and she’ll just think you’re a pervert). If you are shy and have a problem looking strangers square in the face a good strategy is to look somewhere on her forehead or maybe her eyebrows (this is what ROTC Cadets do during bearing checks). Follow up this look with some form of affirmative action like smiling, now if she’s still looking at you or has smiled back there are two paths you can take.
You can either go to her or have her come to you. The first of these propositions is the easier to accomplish of the two, however for a shy guy it may be a bit difficult. Like I said earlier don’t suddenly just lunge to her, you want to move there with a certain pace. If you are too jumpy you may want to do my favorite action before moving in her direction; take a sip of your drink to calm your nerves and break the action before you walk towards her (don’t down the beer you’ll likely overpower your breathe with the smell of beer, or worse you might belch right in her face).
Now I know what you’re thinking now “What’s a good pick up line?” don’t think of using one, however if you do have something clever to say, and you can get away with it you might as well as long as you can pull it off and make it seem natural, you know something to start a conversation.
Something like, “Do you know who plays this song? “ But if you can’t come up with something on the fly its cool; don’t panic act organic. Just approach her and say hi and spark up a conversation and introduce yourself; ask her what her name is, the basics.
How to Approach Women – Make a Comment
Make a comment about the place you’re in or something around you so it’s not like you’re filling out an address book. Remember just be yourself; you’re not in a movie so there’s no script to follow. And from there just play it cool as always.
So lets go down the dos and don’t list when learning how to approach women:
• be yourself
• be confident
• stay calm
• don’t rush
• don’t use a pick up line
• don’t shy away when a girl looks at you
With these simple tips you’ll know how to approach women in no time at all. And remember just like anything in life, practice makes perfect. Don’t expect every single girl to like you or think you’re cool. There will always be those girls that don’t want the attention don’t get discouraged by them, most shy guys are afraid of rejection, but the fact of the matter is we all do it at some point in our lives because it’s a natural action. Don’t feel bad when you get the cold shoulder, just roll over that boulder and just wait for the next opportunity. It’s kind of like fishing you just have to wait for the right ones.
